1,750,000th Chevrolet Corvette Built Is Up For Grabs

Recently, there’s been a lot of speculation about when 2020 Corvette production will end and 2021 production to begin.

Earlier this year, GM announced that all 2020 Corvette orders that were currently in the system and sitting at status code 3000 (Accepted by Production Control) or greater, would be built by the middle of November.

As customers have been vehemently tracking the progress of their orders, some have begun to speculate that there’s no way GM could complete the build out of all of the orders sitting at 3000.

While GM has not publicly released any official end and start date for 2020/2021 production, according to our sources, 2020 and 2021 Corvette production will run in tandem for at least a couple of weeks starting in mid to late November.

Since there really isn’t any major changes between the two model year, this type of production pattern would make sense while giving GM the opportunity to finish the 2020 orders without delaying the 2021 model year.

We’ve reached out to GM, but have so far, received no official confirmation.

2021 Corvette Dealer Allocation

The other big question on everyone’s mind is when 2021 Corvette allocation will be released to Chevy dealers.  From what we’ve been told, those numbers won’t be be released until around the second or third week of October.

Given all the 2020 Corvette orders that were placed in the system at the beginning of the year and didn’t reach status 3000, it will be interesting to see how many of those orders were converted over to 2021 orders and the difference between 2020 and 2021 allocation numbers.

We’ll have more information as it becomes available to us.  Stay tuned!
