On Friday, GM notified dealers that any remaining 2025 Corvette ZR1 orders that haven't been built yet, will be cancelled

Yesterday, GM started notifying its Chevy dealers that any 2025 Corvette ZR1 orders they have sitting at status 3000 or less in GM’s Order Workbench system, would have to be resubmitted as 2026 Corvette ZR1 orders.

GM will be cancelling all 2025 ZR1 orders  that haven’t been built yet because they wouldn’t be able to build them all before the 2026 model year changeover.  As a result, dealers will have to rebuild and submit those orders as 2026 ZR1s which will now include the increased MSRP and destination charge.

Since the Bowling Green Corvette Assembly Plant is now shut down for the next two weeks, workers will be returning Monday, July 14th.  However, 2026 Corvette production is expected to start the week of July 28th, giving just two more weeks of 2025 Corvette production.

As of Thursday, GM has only built 63 2025 ZR1s for its dealers.

Based upon what we’ve seen in the C8 Corvette ZR1 Registry, it appears that Bowling Green has been averaging two, sometimes three ZR1s built per day.  With just 63 ZR1s built to date and two more weeks of 2025 production, it’s safe to assume that the 2025 Corvette ZR1 is going to be one of the rarest Corvettes ever built!

If you were able to get your hands on one, congratulations!
