2015 Corvette Stingray Valet Mode PDR May Violate Wiretapping Laws, GM Working On Update

New for 2015, the Chevrolet Corvette Valet Mode with Performance Data Recorder is an industry-exclusive system that allows drivers to lock interior storage, disable the infotainment system, and now record video, audio and vehicle data. -- GM Media

As you know, the 2015 Corvette comes with the Performance Data Recorder that has a Valet mode.

That valet mode captures front facing video as well as audio within the car. The problem with that, is that in some states, recording audio inside the car could be considered a felony. It’s could be considered a felony because anyone inside the car should be granted informed consent to be recorded.

As a result, GM has sent out the following letter to Chevrolet dealerships:
