Usually, when someone posts pictures in the forums of a Corvette that’s been in a serious accident, many members will respond with “that will buff right out!” Unfortunately, that is not the case for this 2016 Corvette Z06 C7.R Limited Edition.
This one was involved in a brutal crash in Katy, Texas. Details of the accident are limited, but apparently the Corvette left the Chevrolet dealer just hours before the accident occurred and was on its way to a shop to have the windows tinted.
Any Corvette crash is extremely painful to watch for us enthusiasts, but as you can see from the video footage, this Z06 looks like it went through a shredder! It’s especially painful to watch knowing that Chevrolet is only building 650 units of this special edition C7 Corvette and only 500 of them are staying here in the United States.
While the Z06’s LT4 engine remains standard at 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque, the limited edition C7.R package includes the Z06 Performance Package, carbon-ceramic brakes, yellow exterior paint and stripes similar to the C7.R Corvette race cars, and black wheels accented with yellow.
Hopefully the driver of this Corvette did not meet the same fate!
