THIS BULLETIN HAS BEEN REVISED TO ADD VIN BREAKPOINTS UNDER THE "CONDITION" SECTION

CONDITION:

SOME OWNERS MAY COMMENT ON EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION OR A ROUGH IDLE COLD. VEHICLES BUILT BEFORE THE FOLLOWING VIN BREAKPOINTS ARE AFFECTED.

CAUSE:

POSSIBLE DELAMINATED INTAKE MANIFOLD SIDE GASKETS.

CORRECTION:

TO DETERMINE IF THE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKETS ARE DELAMINATED, PERFORM THE FOLLOWING DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE:

1. WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING, REMOVE THE OIL FILL CAP AND LOOK FOR ANY NOTICEABLE CHANGE IN ENGINE SPEED.

2. IF AN ENGINE SPEED CHANGE IS NOTED, THE INTAKE GASKETS ARE PROBABLY DELAMINATED.

3. REPLACE THE INTAKE GASKETS WITH THE NEW DESIGN GASKETS.
