According to a GM spokesperson, production of the 2022 Corvette will once again come to a halt next week due to a parts shortage

Production of the 2022 Corvette continues to be hampered by parts shortages as GM has now confirmed that the Bowling Green Corvette Assembly Plant will be shut down next week due to another parts shortage.

According to GM spokesman, Dan Flores:

Due to a temporary part constraint, Bowling Green Assembly will take downtime next week (week of April 25) on both first and second shift.  Our supply chain, manufacturing, and engineering teams are working closely with suppliers to mitigate further impacts on production and we expect to resume operations the week of May 2.

This latest glitch in production comes just one month after another parts shortage closed the Bowling Green Corvette Assembly Plant on March 21st.

After the shutdown in March, GM extended production of the 2022 Corvette by one week to make up for the shut-down.  While it isn’t clear yet if they’ll extend it again, if they do, we would expect the start of 2023 Corvette production to be pushed back to Monday, May 23rd.
