1974 Corvette Production and Performance
| Model Year Highlights |
- 1974 was the last year for the big block Corvette.
- The chrome rear bumper from 1973 was replaced by an all new rear bumper on the 1974 Corvette which was composed of a urethane-plastic skin which covered an aluminum impact bar.
- This would be the last year for Corvettes to be built without catalytic converters.
- For the coupe, shoulder belts were now incorporated with lap belts to form a one piece seat belt. For the convertible, shoulder belts were still optional and still kept separate from the lap belts.
