[VIDEO] Corvette Chief Engineer, Tadge Juechter Introduces the 2019 Corvette ZR1 in Dubai

On Sunday, November 12th at 12:00 PM ET, Corvette Chief Engineer, Tadge Juechter and Chevy Performance Design Chief, Tom Peters introduced the 2019 Corvette ZR1 to the automotive media at the Dubai International Auto Show.

In the video, Tadge presents some of the ZR1’s engineering accomplishments such as the hand-built 6.2L LT5 supercharged engine that pumps out 755 HP and 715 Ib-ft of torque,  and the additional cooling hardware that includes four new outboard radiators in the front end and a total of 13 heat exchangers.

Tom Peters discusses some of the ZR1’s design elements such as the heavy use of carbon fiber throughout the entire car making the ZR1 the first Corvette to ever use such a high amount of carbon fiber in its construction.

Thanks to all the carbon fiber used in the ZR1, GM states that the official curb weight of the ZR1 coupe will be 3,524 lbs which is the same reported curb weight of the Z06.

One hundred and five horsepower more than a Z06 with the same curb weight is nothing short of amazing considering that the ZR1 has a larger Eaton supercharger and more cooling equipment on board as compared to the Z06!
