If you’re into throwing money out the window, you could own this 2019 Corvette ZR1 with 8 miles for only $225,000

Thanks to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the new and used car markets are going through the roof right now due to extremely low inventory.

Because of ongoing supply chain issues and the much publicized semiconductor shortage, new car inventory has become all but non-existent on some dealer lots.  As a result, demand for used cars has skyrocketed causing the price of some models to go through the roof.

Dealers are now able to sell new cars at MSRP or above, while used cars are selling for prices that ordinarily, most people would laugh at.

Such is the case with this 2019 Corvette ZR1 that was just listed for sale on EBAY with a Buy it Now price of $224,800.  Listed for sale by JFK Auto in Pennsylvania, this one-owner Shadow Gray Metallic 2019 ZR1 has only 8 miles on the odometer with the original window sticker still attached to the windshield.

With an MSRP of $142,270, the ZR1 came equipped with the top of the line 3ZR trim package, the ZTK Track Performance Package, competition sport seats, red brake calipers, carbon flash painted wheels and mirrors, and an 8-speed automatic transmission.  While it’s definitely a well equipped ZR1 with a couple popular options, I wouldn’t call it loaded like the selling dealer does in his video.

According to our 2019 Corvette ZR1 Registry here at the Corvette Action Center, this ZR1 is one of only two built with this combination of options.  The other one was listed for sale a year ago by HGreg Lux in Pompano Beach, Florida with 1,539 miles on the odometer.

I’ve been watching used C7 ZR1 prices slowly rise over the last several months and in some cases, owners have been able to sell their ZR1s with minimal miles for close to, if not just slightly over what they originally paid.  So what makes this one worth $82,530 miles over the original MSRP?

The 2019 Corvette ZR1 was without question, the ultimate swan song of the C7 Corvette generation and the most powerful Corvette ever built to date.  With just 2,895 built for sale, it’s definitely a rare and much sought after Corvette indeed.

According to the selling dealer’s video in his EBAY listing, he mentions that the twin to this one has only two miles on it and a manual transmission.  That’s just wrong as I already pointed out above.  He then goes on to say that “you were not able to take delivery on these cars until they hit 5 miles” and you had to sign papers in order to take delivery of a ZR1 with less than 5 miles on it from the factory because all ZR1s were test driven up to 5 miles prior to leaving the Bowling Green Corvette Assembly Plant.  That’s wrong too.

While the C7 ZR1 Corvette is definitely a special car, this particular one is by far, not the rarest one built to justify a $225,000 asking price IMHO.  It will be interesting to see if it sells and at what price.
