| The 1999 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible recevied the award for "Best Engineered Car of the 1990s and Best Engineered Car of the 20th Century" from The Society of Automotive Engineeres (SAE International).
"It's a tremendous honor for the Chevrolet Corvette to be cited by the Society of Automotive Engineers as the Best Engineered Car of the 20th Century," stated David C. Hill, Corvette Chief Engineer.
