1994 Corvette Production

Model Year Highlights

For 1994, two new exterior colors appeared: Admiral Blue Metallic and Copper Metallic. Only 116 Corvettes were built in Copper Metallic. The reason why so few Copper Metallic Corvettes where built was because the Bowling Green Assembly Plant couldn't get the pigment to match (the bumpers and body panels of the C4 back then were not painted at the same time because the bumpers required a special additive to make the paint on them more flexible), and there was also a problem with the metallic flake in the paint.
ZR-1s received new 5 spoke wheels.
Air conditioning systems were revised to use R-134A refrigerant.
Convertible rear windows were now glass instead of plastic.
Recommended tire pressures were decreased from 35psi to 30psi (except for ZR-1s). RPO FX3 spring rates were lowered to improve ride quality.
For 1994, all Corvettes came equipped with leather seats. Cloth seats were no longer an option.
Interior refinements included a new redesigned two spoke steering wheel, passenger-side air bag and knee bolster, new seat and door trim, express-down driver's side power window, new white white instrument graphics which turned to a tangerine color at night. The tire jack was relocated to a compartment behing the passenger seat.
Base LT1 engine refinements included: new sequential port fuel injection system which improved response, idle quality, driveability and emissions by firing injectors in sequence with the engine's firing order. A more power igntion system reduced engine start times.
