Back in 1959...
The new Sting Ray, which was rebodied from the Corvette SS mule chassis by Bill Mitchell and Larry Shinoda, made its debut at the President's Cup Race at Maryland's Marlboro Raceway.  The famous "Purple People Eater Mk III, a 1959 Corvette, wins a SCCA B-Production race.
