What you are looking at is one of two special Corvettes that were won in the Corvette Dream Giveaway for the Kids Wish Network. This beautiful 2009 Corvette ZR-1 Hero Edition was specially designed to copy the color and look of its 1967 “twin” and is finished in black with a red stinger look hood stripe that surrounds the polycarbonate window that shows the intercooler. The Hero edition was design specifically for this charitable organization by GM and was signed under the hood by the engineers that made this car come to life.
This is the only one in existence and is badged #1 of 1! It is brand new in every respect and has only been driven 20 miles. Open the door and slide into the black and red themed seats embroidered with the ZR-1 logo, push the start button and listen to the LS9 638Hp V8 come to life. This amazing corvette was built for speed and comfort as it is optioned with everything including, heated power seats, navigation radio, carbon fiber and suede trim, tilt steering with radio and phone controls and of course a 6 speed transmission!
The exterior is just as special as the interior. Carbon fiber spoilers, side skirts, roof and even under the hood give this beauty the look of a race car. The massive Michelin pilot sport tires (235/30/19 front and 335/25/20 rear) are mounted on chrome wheels and will keep this ZR-1 from taking flight. stopping power comes from the crossed drilled Brembo ceramic rotors and big red brakes. This car is beautiful from every angle and will not disappoint. With the car comes the window sticker which is still on the car, all of the owner’s manuals, the Corvette Enthusiast magazine with the article that covers the entire process from restoration to the new owner taking delivery, a custom fitted corvette cover and corvette duffle bag with road essentials.

Up for auction we have the 2009 ZR1 Hero Edition that was featured in the Corvette Dream Giveaway. The car has 15 miles on it and is currently not being driven. The car is mechanically stock. For those of you unaware, this is the most powerful Corvette ever produced. With an earth shattering 638 HP out of a 6.2L Supercharged LS9 V8. This is a super car and not for the faint of heart by any measure. It shares the same brakes as the Ferrari Enzo, being ceramic composite brakes with massive 6 piston front Brembo calipers and 4 piston rear Brembo calipers. The car weighs in at a mere 3300 pounds from the factory. Performance specs are 0-60 in 3.4 seconds, and can achieve a high 10 second quarter mile stock with the right driver. Now what sets this car apart from other ZR1's is the special edition red trim around the car. Everything that was originally blue on a normal ZR1 is red on this car. This was done by GM not an aftermarket company. This was also one of the last cars built before the Corvette was shut down in the first quarter of 2009. The estimated value of the special coloring by GM is approximately 30 thousand dollars, as in that's what it would cost for you to have this work done yourself to your ZR1. The car also bears the signature of four of the top Corvette management team on the back side of the hood. This car was also featured in Corvette Enthusiast magazine which contains an entire article about the car. This car is truly something special and is breathtaking to look at. It would be the center piece of any collection as well as most likely the most powerful toy in the garage.
