Model Year Highlights
- Astro Ventilation was eliminated from the 1976 model year, thus eliminating the air vents on the rear deck.
- The hood on the 1976 Corvette is unique to that model year. The air induction system was revised and moved forward towards the front of the hood so that air was pulled in over the radiator. This eliminated an audible howl within the cabin due to the old design.
- A partial steel underbody was added in the front part of Corvettes for extra rigidty and to eliminate excessive engine heat from entering the cabin.
