    Mod Party Day!
Wednesday is the day we've set aside for a bit of relaxation for the folks who spent days driving to get here. While the tours on Wednesday can certainly be arranged for both, as an option, we've arranged for Corvette owners to attend some modification seminars while those traveling with them can visit some other destinations
    6:30 AM
  • Free hot breakfast at the Bucking Toad Saloon
  • 9:00 AM
  • Manitou Springs/Top of Pikes Peak via the Cog-Railway. At 14,110 feet above sea level, Pikes Peak is not only one of the tallest mountains in Colorado (we call them "fourteeners" when they break the 14K above sea level barrier), it's easily the recognizable, and certainly the most prominent feature in Colorado Springs. Although there is a yearly race up to the top of Pikes Peak, we do not recommend attempting to drive it, particularly in your Corvette- the last twelve miles up the mountain are unpaved, and it's very hard on your brakes back downhill. Instead, we recommend you take the cog-railway to the top. Spend a bit of time seeing the world from such an altitude, and when you come back down, spend some time in the shops of Manitou Springs. Returns approximately 3:00 PM.
  • 9:30 AM
  • US Olympic Training Center Tour & Downtown Colorado Springs. 2008 will see the teams currently training at the Olympic Training Center travel over to Bejing for the Olympic Games. Come and see how our US Athletes train and prepare. Afterwards, spend some time in Downtown Colorado Springs. Returns at approximately 2:30 PM
  • 10:00 AM
  • Caravan Departure to Rocky Mountain Corvette. Recommended for pre-fuel injected Corvettes, for "altitude adjustments" to carburetors. Caravan up to Littleton, at the south end of Denver, and visit the Rocky Mountain Corvette facilities. Anticipated return at 3:00 PM
  • 10:30 AM
  • Caravan Departure to Corvette Center of Colorado Springs: Mod Parties. This will be your chance to watch a C4, C5 or C6 modification- based upon popular vote of which mod members most would like to see, from the CAC poll- done live to a Corvette as you watch
  • 3:45 PM
  • Pro-Rodeo Hall of Fame/Dinner & Western Stage Show @ the Famous Flying W Ranch (actual working cattle ranch). Time to GO Western! Trip includes visit to the Professional Rodeo Hall of Fame, followed by a short drive to Flying W Ranch where we'll visit their authentic Western town/shops, enjoy a delicious Chuckwagon BBQ dinner and Live Western Stage Show .We will have separate parking and our group will sit together. Note: Please be advised the parking lot of the Flying W Ranch features recycled asphalt and gravel.
  • 6:00 PM
  • For those who opt out of the Pro-Rodeo Hall of Fame and Flying-W Ranch dinner, a Group Dinner at the Bucking Toad Saloon, or one of the variety of local restaurants.
  • " The Bucking Toad Saloon is the restaurant attached to the Silverwood Hotel. Group dinner attendees will gather in the hotel lobby at 6:00 and enjoy the two hours of free cocktails at the Bucking Toad
    8:00 PM
  • Social Hour at the CAC's Hospitality Saloon. Stop by for Blender Wars!

    Caravan Day!
Now that you've gotten the mods done, or done the tourist thing, it's time to see how much your Corvette likes Colorado roads! Remember, each tour is designed to fill a whole day, so you can only do one. Which one will you chose?
    6:30 AM
  • Free hot breakfast at the Bucking Toad Saloon
  • 8:00 AM
  • Colorado Railroad Museum/Coors Brewery Tour. The arrival of the railroads in Colorado in the 19th Century cemented Denver's pivotal role as the empire city in the Rocky Mountains. And the railroads themselves defined how the west would be built. This historic tour of railroad history is a must for any train buffs. Add on to the bargain that you get to tour the brewery that wouldn't be nearly as well known nationally if "Smokey & the Bandit" hadn't made Coors Beer a household word. This will be a full day tour, returning approximately 5:00 PM, and there will be a stop for a no-host lunch mid-way through.
  • 9:00 AM
  • Royal Gorge Bridge/Hardscrabble Pass/Skyline Drive. What a rush! The famous Royal Gorge Bridge, and you driving your Corvette over it! (A photo-op if ever there was one!) Want to really experience some Mountain canyon twisties? Hardscrabble Pass is just the ticket. And, if you still haven't hit your adrenaline rush for the day, a trip over Skyline Drive in Canon City ought to tweak your fear of heights a bit. Anticipated return time: 4:00 PM.
  • 9:30 AM
  • Cripple Creek. An historic mining town that's managed to preserve it's 19th century Victorian appeal, now seeing new success as one of only three Mountain communities in Colorado which allow limited stakes gaming. But don't stop at just the blackjack or roulette tables:. The Molly Kathleen Gold Mine will take you deep under Cripple Creek to pan for gold and the Butte Opera House has a matinee performance at 1:00 PM of the World famous… well, Colorado famous, at any rate… Melodrama, "The Colorado Colleen," where you can "cheer" on the hero and "boo" the villain to your heart's content! And the trip up there will take you over some breath-taking scenery to the far side of Pikes Peak. This trip will have you back at the Silverwood by 4:30 PM.
  • 10:00 AM
  • Air Force Academy/Mountain Tour. The United States Air Force Academy- one of the great military service academies of the United States, and arguably the most beautiful. Constructed in the late 1950s, its design and layout have fascinated tourists for decades. Visit the amazing Field House, view the Cadet Parade Grounds from the steps of the Academy Chapel, and see what the inside of that strange looking chapel actually feels like, stop at the visitors center- and then get set for a great mountain ride that takes you up to Pine Junction, down Colorado Highway 67 to Deckers and Woodland Park, and then back into Colorado Springs. Anticipated return back to the Silverwood by approximately 4:30 PM.
  • 6:00 PM
  • Dinner arrangements will be on your own, but remember the Bucking Toad Saloon offers hotel guests two free hours of cocktails during their happy hour.
  • The Bucking Toad Saloon is the restaurant attached to the Silverwood Hotel. Group dinner attendees will gather in the hotel lobby at 6:00 and enjoy the two hours of free cocktails at the Bucking Toad.
  • 8:00 PM
  • Social Hour at the CAC's Hospitality Saloon. Stop by for Blender Wars!
  • Friday, June 29, 2007

Car Show will run to approximately 2:30 PM.
  • 3:00 PM
  • Poker Run! Have a little fun after the Car Show with a poker run. Ride to scenic destinations to collect your hand of cards.
  • Garden of the Gods. One of the most amazing natural formations in Colorado, and a place considered sacred to the Ute Indian Tribe. Today, it is park owned by the City of Colorado Springs. Lots of great vistas and stops for photo opportunities, this tour will depart from the Corvette Center of Colorado Springs following the Car Show
