Need this part. Please help.

Today I decided to look in my driver's side visor mirror which is lighted. When I opened it the right plastic hinge broke. So now it's loose which means the light could stay on. I have the pieces and can try to fix it but does anyone know where I could get just that cover for the mirror? The little flip up plastic door?

Any junk yards?

My guess is that the visor is only available as a unit. It is unlikely that you will find one being parted out by a used parts place. A visor is much easier to sell as a complete unit. A dealership can tell you for sure how the part is available.

Another alternative that is not a good one is that you could glue the cover closed to ensure that the light stays off and your battery does not get drained. That would hold you over until you could find what you are looking for. Perhaps you could buy an ugly but complete visor at a Vette show to get the parts you need.

Thanks. I finally found one for $60. But that's too much. So I might use a little super glue, a little fiberglass, and a little aircraft ingenuity to repair it. I might even replace the cheesy hinge with metal.
