Front emblem removal
How is the front emblem held on? Like the C4 with two pins with locking nuts and some adhesive, or is it done simply with adhesive?
I took the back one off and all that was holding it was adhesive.
Has anyone removed theirs and have a pic to show how it looks "bare naked" in front?

Removal:
1. Preheat the emblem to between 90 – 100 F (32 – 38 C).
To aid in the removal of the molding.
2. Peel the emblem from the fascia.
3. Clean any remaining adhesive from the fascia using either a stripe removal disc or suitable cleaner.
a. 3M Scotch Bright Molding Adhesive and Stripe Removal Disc, or equivalent.
b. 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner 08984, or equivalent.
Installation:
1. Clean
2. Warm
3. Install
4. Press firmly.

I had a little bumper buster about a month ago and I didn't have them put an emblem on the new bumper cover... I really didn't care for it. After about a week I ordered one and put it on. btw... it does have 2 pins. That was one of the scariest things I had ever done... drilling 2 holes in my front end!

What are you thinking of putting in its place? I think your Avatar would be a great front emblem.

Looks so much better with emblems removed. When you remove the front one there will be two holes. I had the body shop fill them and paint and it looks great.

Ya think? Hah!
I'm wanting to replace it with a chrome one. The plain black just looks "cheap" to me. I've come to like a lot of "bling" in my advanced age.

I'm confused with this thread. The early comments indicate the front emblem is glued and you can remove it by heating the glue. Yet, this comment (quoted above) indicates there are holes. Is it glued with the holes just there to guide the emblem into the right spot or are there fasteners on the back side attached to whatever goes into these 2 holes? If so, is there a reasonable way to get to these fasterers?
I'm about to put an invisible bra on my 03 and want to remove the emblem so the plastic is under it as well.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. Hal

The holes are just guides, no fasteners. The emblem is glued on.

I've been looking for custom badges too. Where did you find the black one? Can you post a link?

Here is a link to Eklers, they seem to have quite a selection of emblems.

this chrome one from eBay. be advised it is flat and the nose is not. I gently bent mine without disturbing the chrome.

On my black 82, someone painted the front emblem black. It looked alright until a 65 yo lady in a jeep bumped me in a parking lot. Broke of the bottom 1/2 of the flags. Thank god that's all that happened.
