TO:  ALL CHEVROLET DEALERS

1970 Corvettes assembled prior to Serial Number S400748 may have interference between the folding top material and the top compartment lid pin support.  This interference may result in damage to the folding top material.

Vehicles built prior to the above serial number, should be inspected and if interference exists, the top compartment lid pin support should be reworked using the following procedure:

SERVICE PROCEDURE

  1. Remove the lid pin support.  (See Figure 1).
  2. Grind 3/8" x 3/4" off the inboard edge of the support.  (See Figure 2).
  3. Reinstall the lid pin support and inspect to insure adequate clearance exists between the folding top material and the support.
