To correct a problem where the hood, if improperly latched, would come open on the above vehicles, a change was made in the hood lock assemblies to incorporate a new lock catch return spring.
The new spring, part #3841439, may be easily replaced on the existing lock spring assembly, as shown in 1963 Corvette Shop Manual Page 1-4, Figure 4, view "C".
