Difficulty in raising and lowering the door windows may be experienced on some 1968 Corvettes built prior to 10-31-67. This condition is caused by lack of lubrication between the regulator shaft and the regulator hosing (see 1968 Chassis Service Manual, Page 1B-21, Figure 35, Item 6). Galling and metal pick-up on the shaft, due to lack of lube, results in a binding condition of the window regulator assembly.

If the above condition is encountered, inspect both door regulators assembly for proper lubrication. in most cases, the housing should be replaced; however, if galling or metal pick-up on the shaft is slight, the shaft can be repaired by polishing with Crocus Cloth and applying a thin coat of Lubriplate (Part No. 1050109 or Par No. 1050110), or equivalent, for proper lubrication.
