    Default Greatest Sports Moments

Just curious of the greatest sports moments you have witnessed(TV or in person) that you won't forget. Here's a few of mine

    • Secretariat in the Belmont in 73, still get shivers when seeing it again in the movie. Was at Pimlico for the Preakness, pretty cool seeing him blow past horses when he was 6 wide in the turn.
    • Riggins' run against Miami in SB XVII
    • Kirk Gibson's home run against the A's in 88
    • Franz Klammer in the 76 Olympics, needing a need impossible time to win the gold in the downhill and doing it.
    • This year, Jordan Zimmermann's no-hitter in the last game of the year. There in person.

Hmm. Well, I grew up in Pittsburgh, so mine are going to be a bit slanted in that direction:

My moment in sports is not a great sports moment, but one that effected me deeply.

Almost listed Sr's coming from 17th or 18th on the last restart at Talladega(99?2000?) to win. Never seen anything like it, you just don't make up that much ground on superspeedways. Had season tix to Richmond and Charlotte thru the 90s/00s. Met him a quite a few times, always had that wry smile, and always remembered my name..since we shared 1st names..NASCAR lost alot when they lost him, it hasn't been the same since.
