    Default Charcoal Canister Hose Removal

I need to replace the vacuum hose between the E4ME carb fuel vent and the canister; it is very rotten. Have not been able to get the hose off of the canister; there is some type of collar or something to the smaller diameter hose above the connection. Looks like the smaller hose is beginning to come off, but the hose that I actually need to replace is not moving.

What is this collar, locking rings, ???, whatever it is....and how do I get it off? Do I need to cut it with a knife?

    Appreciate any insight.

A quick dash of WD-40 (since you are replacing the hoses) helps. Let it soak in the rubber hose. The. Rotate the hose left or right gently, to break the seal between the hose and the nipple.

Are you referring to the rubber boot that the hose goes into? The boot will also be linked to the boot above. (I can get a photo if you're not sure what I mean) you should be able to pull the boot off of the cannister and disconnect both hoses.
i just replaced all of my hoses and couldn't seperate all of the hoses from the boots, But the hose will fit onto the nipple on the cannister. (Plus I'm not sure but I think they may have been leaking anyway)
