This 1978 Pace Car, lot# 250.1, was nearly identical to the one above but with higher mileage. It showed just over 9000 miles. Selling price was $34,100.

Lot# 251 This 1971 was nice. It had all the provenance. Every major piece of documentation was with the car. A 350, 4 speed, it was showing just over 45,700 miles. I would have liked to have been the new owner at $45,350.

Lot 264 The last year for the big block, this 1974 even came with a 4 speed. I sported non-original side pipes on an otherwise very original car. With a nice black leather interior, it brought $26,400 at the hammer. This is the end of the Tuesday cars. Wednesday's cars will be a little nicer and see higher bids.

    Default Wednesday's Corvettes

There were plenty of Corvettes across the block on Wednesday. Some sold for first time buyer prices and some sold much higher. Of interest were the 4 Corvette Challenge racers from the Mike Yeager collection at Mid America. There were enough of these built to go around and being race cars, not legal for street use, they didn't bring the big money. What great track day cars they would be though.

I won't try to document all of the cars but will, instead, show a few of the more interesting lots.

Let's start with a well documented and cared for 1990 ZR1. Mileage was 22,500 and it sold for $25,300.

Lot# 368.1 This 1968 327/300 automatic was a one owner until 2010 with only 29,100 miles showing. It recently scored a 93.5 in a NCRC chapter level judging. What a great survivor for someone just getting into the Corvette collector hobby without spending much money. Hammer price was only $20,900.

Here we have a seriously hot rodded 1988 C4 convertible with a Procharged 383, ZF 6 speed, big Bear brakes and even a roll bar. It looks like a lot of fun for $24,200.

This is a nice 1968 L79 a/c convertible in code 992 Corvette Bronze. This recently restored California car brought $29,700.

This 1958 was as close to perfection as you are likely to see in a C1 restoration. But it was just a base motor car with a Powerglide. I watched it sell for $111,100. and had to walk away scratching my head. I guess it's true what they say about only needing 2 guys who really want a car to make an auction.

Modified with power steering and a smaller steering wheel, this 1962 would make a great cruiser. Hammered at $68,200.00.

Here we have a 1965 blue in and out coupe that appeared to be a L79 327/350 car but had Fuel Injection emblems on the front fenders. That was a common practice back in the day but frowned upon now. It was a nice looking car and it brought $56,100.

I like Sunfire Yellow and this 1966 427 convertible makes it look stunning. It was originally delivered in Michigan which would explain why it has had the frame and trailing arms replaced. Sold for $66,000.

A Daytona Yellow 427/390 automatic both top convertible with black soft top and black vinyl on the hardtop sold for $41,800. This was a nice driver quality car you would be proud to drive.

This was the top seller of the 4 Corvette Challenge cars at $30,800. No matter where you were on the grounds you could hear this car when it started up. I want it. The other 3, Lots# 558, 559, and 560 sold for $19,800., $22,000., and $20,350. respectively.
