The term “restomod” gets thrown around quite a bit these days, and the basic definition is to make an old car perform like a new one without destroying the vintage style. That's exactly what Maryville, Tennessee, resident Dwayne Gross accomplished with his '60 Corvette, but he never intended on taking it this far when he purchased the car in 2001.

Excellent statement and the term resto-mod has a few definitions; the first you mentioned. Another definition begins with a tube chassis and although it looks like a Corvette; but nothing is Corvette.

In their place, I can appreciate both.

    Thumbs up Silver bullet...

Ultimately, cars are only machines and otherwise inert until a human enters the equation and begins exploitation.

Flag Resto's Rule - Beauty and the beast...

Corvette owners are a pretty loyal bunch. It isn’t uncommon for those that have purchased one to upgrade once a new model is introduced. That is what Pennsylvania resident Pat Lamberton has done over the years. A C4 was his first introduction into the Corvette fold. That eventually led to a C5, and then a C6. For Pat, each generation has been an improvement on all facets. While he appreciates the evolution in each series, the classic lines of the C2 have always captivated him, so in 2012, he decided some de-evolution in his garage was needed.www.super.chevy.com
