Default CTS but no IAT? Any ideas why?

    So...

Any ideas why GM went with only a coolant sensor and not an IAT/MAT too?

I never really understood why they didn't build an IAT into the system too.

If you are asking relative to a Xfire, it's because it's a wet manifold altho I did have it on my 84 once I swapped to EBL ECM.

That's where I was going with my question. Early TBIs didn't have one and later did (hence the EBL having one).

Clearly... later model GM TBIs stuffed an IAT/MAT in the air cleaner assembly... so, if I wager a guess... it is because the fuel calculations would be more precise across temperature conditions. Perhaps something having to do with the ratio of CTS/IAT as part of fueling on the later ECMs when temperature is a function of air density.

I dunno. It's not a big deal- was just curious as to the logic at work.
