    Default Valve Cover: Painting

Sorry if this is a real dumb question but here goes,
I need to replace my leaking valve cover gaskets in my 1979.
While off, I'd like to strip and repaint the valve covers as they are peeling.
What do I use to strip and what paint do you recommend? They are blue. This is not a show car (yet  )
    Thanks
    Steve

Paint stripper should clean your covers. Paint stripper at home depot for example. Maybe brake cleaner can loosen the paint too.

I just used some new paint for a project at work today. We used Dupli-Color "Metalcast" anodized surface color system on polished metal. If you can strip and polish them, or even purchase some new covers that are polished or chromed you can give them that anodized color look with this stuff. It does look awsome. There is an undercoat application before applying the color.

I couldn't find it in any of the stores it was supposed to be in, but there are lots of places to order it from on the internet. I used the red!!
