Tire sidewalls are a pretty important element of ride comfort.

The ride quality on my 10 GS is a lot better then my 02 Z51 with run flats. My car came with a new set of Nitto Invo's and that I'm sure is helping a lot. I may or may not go back to the Michilin P2's ZP's when these need changing. I am amazed how nice it rides.

    Default Good point

There haven't been any that I really didn't like, although 1 generation wasn't very pleasing to me until it was near its end.

JMO, but as far as styling goes, I agree...except for the C5. I was (and still am) mad at them for the C5. The C6 is everything that the C5 should have been. When I first saw a C5, I reacted by buying my '96 C4...and have never regretted that decision. I fully expect to feel the same about the C7 vs the C6. They're free to surprise me if they can...

Here's something else regarding the C7. With the memory of the C4/C5 handover still fresh in my mind...I predict that, during the C7 launch, the automotive media (with Chevrolet's blessing/assistance) will be explaining, in great detail, just what an Olympic-caliber turd the C6 always was. We'll all be totally shocked at how we could have been so deluded...how we actually could have thought that the C6 was a pretty great car when, as they'll explain, it was really just a steaming pile of poo. Wait and see if they don't pull this nonsense again...

That was the way I felt when the C4 came out over the C3. The C2's were always my favorite and I was sad they only lasted as long as they did. I finally got in tune with the C3 and had several. C5 versus C4, didn't really like either of them but got to liking them after I owned them. The C6 I liked right out of the gate. I thought it took all the good aspects of the C5 engineering and put a decent body on it. When the C6 Z06 first came out a Chevy promotion sent some 10 X 8 color pics of it and I put one up in my office. Its still there and although I didn't get the Z car I got the look with with my Grand Sport. I am content.....

I was in junior high when the C3s came out, and I was blown completely away by that Mako Shark body. At that young age, I hadn't yet developed the appreciation for the earlier cars that I have now. Then, in the mid 70s, when I was old enough (and flush enough), I tracked down my first Corvette: a Marlboro Maroon '70 LT-1 coupe with one option...a heavy-duty battery. Man, what a raw, exciting car to drive. After only three years, I sold it to get a Cobra kit. That I will always regret. The C3s did loose me after '72, though...

We're on the same wavelength on the C6. I've had my C4 GS since new, but when the C6 came out I started loosing interest in it. Now I'm very ready to move on. I finally have the money for a C6, but more and more I'm thinking that I'm no longer willing to eat the depreciation on a new one. So, as soon as my garage is empty I'll be looking for a C6 GS coupe. There are a few colors that I could live with if the option mix is right. Blade Silver wasn't on my list until I took a good look at yours. It really pops with those chrome wheels on it, and I think it and Cyber Gray are the only colors that can pull off the standard wheels without looking a bit cheap, as well. You have a very nice ride there...

A lot of folks on the Z forums really look down on the Grand Sport. I just flat out don't get that at all. I have the money for either one, but since I'm looking for an enjoyable, comfortable road car, I'm not even considering a Z06. Maybe if I was still young enough to primarily care/worry about what total strangers think about my car (or, in reality, me), I'd be looking at a Z06. However, I'm decades beyond that now, and I'm more concerned with impressing myself than with impressing others. I think a C6 GS is going to fill the bill perfectly. I don't mean to imply that the Z06 is exclusively a poser car. On the contrary, I think it's absolutely the ultimate track day car available for the money. I'm just aware that that's no longer the car that I need or want...

Thanks for the compliment. After buying the car on line and seeing only pictures I was ok with the paint color but when I first saw it live I said wow! In my opinion you gotta have the chrome wheels with it to make it work. I went through the same mental excersises you did when getting ready to by a newer car. I had a beautiful 08 Z06 tracked down up in Chicago and called and had them give me a 24 hr. hold on it. After a restless night I came to the conclusion that 505 hp is cool but you couldn't take the top off if you wanted to. I wanted a cruiser not a racer. So I called them and said thanks but no thanks. That car was 47K.

I then turned my eyes towards the Grand Sports and found this 2010 with 20K that was closer and had a 6M side oiler which I think is cool and a handbuilt engine. What is not to love....It's a poor mans Z06.....With the Corsa X pipe and Sport mufflers it sounds like a million bucks..........and it ended up costing me 3 grand less then the 08 Z06. I think you will love the GS as long as you get the color and wheels that you want.

Just to confuse you more........look at this.......

Very funny...actually, the photo just confirms that I really have no choice...it's definitely a C6 over a C7. Except for the unfortunate Camaro rear end, the whole design wreaks of Asia, which is not a compliment. The design team seems to have gotten lost in the woods...a terrible shame.

As to colors on C6s, now that I'm going used car, I'll have to loosen up on my preferences a bit. Velocity Yellow and Torch Red are both beautiful colors, but I'm in the mood for something a little less "look at me" these days. I don't know about the orange, either...maybe. After all these years with my old GS, I think I'm done with blues for a while, too. Black is completely out of the question: beautiful but too much trouble. That leaves white for sure, and now silver...with Crystal Red and Cyber Grey in the running as well...depending, as you say, on which wheels, interior colors, etc. JMO, but I can't handle Cashmere interiors at all. Other colors/combinations will receive consideration.

I just realized...we kind of pulled this thread off track, didn't we? Sorry...

Try to find a Heritage package and that will have the two toned interior which in my opinion helps the interiors not be as plain looking. The Cyber Grey is a super color with ebony/titanium or ebony/red...but you can't go wrong with the Blade silver. About the thread hijack....that's why I posted the pic of the C7 rendering....don't forget that is just a scientific wild ass guess....

That looks like a rendering. If it was a photo, GM would be on them like white on rice.

True dat.....is it a photo of a rendering...or a picture of a drawing....whatever it is I kinda like it but will have to wait until the official unvailing in January unless GM lets a pic get out. Maybe they are working with Jelopnik......we shall see.

The C7 can't come fast enough. The first quarter sales for the Corvette was only 4,250.

That's because the economy sucks - people are afraid to spend on luxury/frivolous items, and things are getting worse.
