    These quotes are factually inaccurate:

"The Chevy felt unweildly [sic] on California's tight coastal roads"
"The suspension handles minor bumps without upset, but the residual vibrations can be felt through the whole car."
"The Lows: Chassis Flex, Slow reacting slushbox, rental car interior"

Were they mistakenly given an '84 Celebrity to drive? The c6 is one of the best cars on the road, and dollar for dollar you can't beat the value, handling, power, or reliability. It's not a luxury car, the interior doesn't need to be covered in acres of leather and brushed aluminum. Chassis flex? What chassis flex? It's difficult to understand these criticisms unless they came from people who simply don't like American cars at all. On what planet is an Audi TT better than a Corvette, this is absolutely ridiculous beyond comprehension, and whoever claimed it is knows absolutely nothing about cars and is completely unqualified to judge them. If you ever see a TT on the street, pause a moment to look inside and see the cheap VW-inspired interior.

I've often thought that Car & Driver was full of Europhiles.

I read Car Craft, Super Chevy, High Performance Pontiac, Vette, and GM High Performance.

Car Craft is full of regular folks with outstanding cars.

Never had any desire to own a Porsche or Audi or ..... well, you get my drift. I can appreciate all of the technicial improvements, but when it gets right down to it, I would rather own a ratty, (pick any year here), Vette than a brand new "off-shored" anything. Next in line would be a Viper, then a Mustang (did I just say that???), then an older muscle car. Rant over!

I Agree That just about says it all.
All of my ratty Corvettes have been good enough for me, the '66 vert I bought in '68, the '71 coupe I bought new and the '04 Coupe I presently own. Heck, my son had a bucket of rust '68 Mustang when he was in high school a few years back and I would choose it over anything "off shore". But I am from the South and have that hardhead rebel blood in my veins.

GM could not supply them with a car right? So it was probably the first time in history that ever happened ! That combined with C&D's own financial problems and the fact Ad revenue from GM has dropped like a stone has really got their panties in a bunch ! Corvette was destined to lose that one !
