    Default Tuned Poart Injectors

Shop 1 replaced injectors on my 1986 Z51. Started as need new pressure regulators, put in injectors at the same time. Had Accel injectors put in. On August 20th Less than 800 miles later car was running lousy, took to shop #2. Extensive diagnostic done, 2nd opinion and restricted injectors were found. Electrical test OK, needed to pull injectors to see metallic build up in the injector nozzles. Had injectors replaced again, August 8, 2007. Entire fuel system cleaned. Source of the meatl could not be identified. Fule filter was in place and properly installed. About 1,000 miles later, April 2008 car not running right, shop #2 found no flow in injector #6, after #6 was replaces, problem also found in #8. Cause appeared to water in the fuel system. Entire fuel sysetm cleaned from tank to injectors. October 2008 car running reasonably well when got stuck in trafic and temperature went up dramatically and car started missing dramatically, real loss of power as transmission, 4+3 was trying to figure out whoihch gear it wanted. In April had shop #3 look at overheating issues, car did not over heat while car was moving. Found that cats were clogged, replaces two pre cats and main cat. Now the car is running horrible, strong smell of gas and unburned gas is llterally coming out the exhaust pipe. Shop #3 belives that the injectors are not functioning properly. Injector problems probaly caused the problems with the cats. Car has about 76,000 miles on it now. Appears that the stock chip was replaced. Had 160 thermosatat, now has 195 thermostsat. Looking for ideas on what can be casuing the ongoing problems with the fuel injectors.

Holy COW!!! Yikes! ZOINKS! One at a time here...

Metal particles in the nozzles? Or in the baskets maybe, which is different from the nozzles???

    Tank checked too?

Water? Doesn't sound right. Water will pass, and fuel flow will resume.

Loping idle? Revv'ing up and down in idle?

    Vacuum/emissions hoses/EVAP lines clogged/blocked.

    No.

Metal shavings in the lines, AFTER THE FILTER? Twice??? Your fuel feed and fuel return lines are crossed. That's a stab, if even possible at all...

FIRST!!! Check fuel pressure, and bleed-down time. Nothing else tight now, just THAT! Record pressure bleed down time until 0 psi. Check the FPR vacuum hose for gas in the hose too. Do nothing else right now; post back pressure reads.
