Is there a way that would work with an internal intake leak?

I don't know, I know if you hold it anywhere on the outside of the motor it will start chirping when it gets close to a leak, the larger the leak the louder the chirp. The transmitter allows you to check for leaks in a windshield, you hold the transmitter on one side and the wand on the other and it chirps when it connects with the signal, showing where the leak is.
