Default ZR-1 clutch vs. base corvette clutch

Well, Several years ago I bought a a Beck Arnley clutch kit (061-6047) for my 1990 6-speed Corvette (non-ZR-1). Finally getting around to replacing it and discovered that what I have is a clutch kit for a ZR-1 instead of the base model. The only obvious difference is that the prssure plate looks a little thicker. Would have to procure longer bolts to make it work. Anyone ever put a ZR-1 clutch kit on a base model before? Can this be done? If so, any drawbacks? Bad idea?

    Thanks,

    Mike

you would be better off just selling the zr1 clutch to a zr1er . the pressure plates are the same .the only difference is the disc thickness .you might be able to go wuth different length bolts ,but you would end up with bolts that arent factor shoulder bolts which adds alot of strength to the clutch assembly. if you ever saw a clutch let go at the strip and saw a car in half ,its not pretty . i would if it were me get the proper setup for your motor and buy new gm shoulder bolts when you do the clutch.its cheap ins . jmho.hope this helps

ps. sorry for the spelling errors ,forgot my glasses.factor, shoulde be factory. you shouldnt have a problem getting your zr1 assembly sold for just about what you paid for it as they arent making the zr1 clutch assembly any more , from what i understand
