I'd like to see Tony of coarse but he started to far back for my liking. To much chance to get wiped out in the first ten laps .Last nights race was decided in the last half lap.

Had a nice big one to start and also near the finish...then a crazy finish to the checkered!

I've gotta give two thumbs up to Carl though, one for admitting that trying to block is what caused him to end up doing a flip with his car and congradulating Brad for winning, and one for his energetic finish of the race!

Default WOW - Brad wins an Carl survives!

TALLADEGA, Ala. Carl Edwards began his charge to the front with nine laps to go at Talladega Superspeedway. He never expected to end up airborne, upside down, sheet metal spewing behind him as his car sailed into the safety fence.

The fence bowed, but held, and Edwards returned safely to the racing surface - another "Big One" to thrill the fans.

Only this time, seven people were hurt and one of the lasting images of Sunday's race will be the pink-clad woman strapped to a stretcher, her head in a brace as she was airlifted to a hospital after debris from Edwards' last-lap crash with winner Brad Keselowski sailed into the grandstands.

While I do feel for the people who were injured, how much can you expect a fence to stop a 3400 pound cannon ball that just got punted into it at 200ish miles an hour. Really freak thing the way it happened, even for a restrictor plate race and I don't know how much more a fence could have done or been expected to do. Personally I feel like going to an event such as this, especially sitting trackside, you have to assume some level of risk even with all that the tracks and nascar do to make it as safe as they can. Best of wishes to those injured for a quick recovery.

Oh you can get hurt at a racetrack sitting much higher than trackside. Wheels and parts can fly a long way with cars going in excess of 200 mph!
