The 1953 Corvette, now celebrating its 50th birthday, has become part of American lore, the first in a long line of legendary sports cars made in the United States. Chip Miller, co-owner of Carlisle Productions and a driving force behind Corvettes at Carlisle, announces his intention to have a 53-car display of 1953 Corvettes on the show field at this year’s event, Aug. 22-24, 2003, at the Carlisle (Pa.) Fairgrounds. “The first 53 registered, no matter what condition they’re in, will get a package of special collectible items and an award,” Miller says. And even though only the first 53 registered will join the main display, Miller says that any 1953 Corvette will be welcomed in the adjoining open display. To register your 1953 Corvette for this historic gathering of first-year Corvettes, Carlisle Productions asks you to contact Events Specialist Tiffany Moyer at (717) 243-7855, ext. 121.

The 2003 edition of Corvettes at Carlisle takes place Aug. 22-24. Gates are open from 7 a.m. to dusk daily. Admission is $10 each day, and Corvettes may park on grounds for an additional $5. Introduce kids to the automotive hobby – children 12 and under are admitted free.
