View Full Version : The Floorjack we've all been looking for?

I, at one time, posited this view regarding the absense of a suitably low floorjack to use when lifting our low Corvettes.

On the subject of floorjacks, why is it they advertise and sell jacks that are supposedly "low profile" when in actuality the only place on the profile where it is low is at the front where the saddle is? All of them seem to be about the same height in the rear, where lowness is most needed by those of us with Corvettes and other low-slung vehicles. Even the expensive racing jacks you see advertised aren't much lower, but they are lighter than your everyday floorjack from Sears. :hb

Well, I just noticed an advertisement in the November issue of Corvette Magazine that Kinesis Motorsport (http://www.kinesismotorsport.com/) has floorjacks that range in length from 26 to 37.4 inches, which should be more than enough length to reach the crossmember on a Corvette.

World-class garage jacks
Designed for heavy-duty, intensive and commercial use
All models, except for DK20, are delivered with quicklift pedal
Simple and safe to operate
Dead-manís control on lifting and lowering
Built-in safety valve to ensure against overloading
Fulfil the strictest International Safety Demands
Increased manoeuvrability
Low weight
Ergonomic handle ensures a firm and pleasant grip whatever the conditions
Ultra-low minimum height of only 3 1/6 inch
Wide and rugged frame construction made of high- strength steel

"Quality with built-in safety"

They have no pricing available, and I'm sure they're not inexpensive by any stretch of the imagination, but it just might be what you're looking for, or it could make a wonderful Christmas present, eh? ;)

Here's a better source for them, with all the info, pictures, prices, and you can buy them on-line. The DK20 is terrific! One of the few that will get under Corvette sidepipes and Vipers - truly low-profile jacks.

Thanks for the info John. At $369 for the DK13HLQ (Quick Lift Pedal standard) it seems like a reasonable price, and the fact that the frame on the DK13HLQ stays at low clearance for 16 inches, then begins to rise gradually to 6.3" is an added benefit we could all use.

Thanks again for bringing this to my attention. :upthumbs
