It's the 27th year for the National Corvette Homecoming, and Corvette owners from all over the country gathered tonight for a parade of Corvettes.

And if you were in town around seven Saturday evening, you may've seen more than a hundred 'vettes heading toward downtown.

"A guy came from New Hampshire in a '63 split window coupe with no air conditioning, so he was pretty dedicated to coming," said John Posthumus, a Corvette owner from Bowling Green.

The dedication of Corvette owners was obvious in the parking lot in front of Hobby Lobbyt on Scottsville Road Saturday evening.

Rows of Corvettes lined up waiting for their parade toward downtown.

"It's always nice to see the people out there looking at us, and kind of showing off your ride and everything like that," said Dean Germain, a Corvette owner from Lebanon, Tennessee.

"This is one of the fun things that we like to do with our Corvette," said Betty Dohe, a Corvette owner from Lombard, Illinois. "We go in parades around our house."

And while they waited for the okay to go, they expressed their pride in their Corvettes.

"It's my baby," said Germain. "There's a little history to it. It was my brothers. He bought it, and when he died, my nephew said I could have it to keep it in the family."

"It's my first Corvette, and I searched for six months for this car, triple black," said Dohe. "It's an '02, and it only had 28-thousand miles on it when I bought it, and I go everywhere in it."

"I take a lot of pride in my car," said Posthumus. "It's a 1967, marina blue, 427, 3-deuce car."

The Corvette owners agreed that owning a Corvette makes them a family, and the parade is the perfect way to show that bond.

"We even have our own wave," said Germain. "When you see eachother you get the three-finger wave."

"We're all in a club," said Dohe. "You see a Corvette anywhere in the country and you wave."

"Seeing as how the Corvette's made here, this is perfect," said Posthumus. "The cars get to come home again."
