San Jacinto Corvette Club

The San Jacinto Corvette Club of Texas is a social organization formed for the purpose of gaining information on, exchanging ideas about, hosting or sponsoring Corvette-oriented activities and events for, and mutual enjoyment of America's Sports Car, The Chevrolet Corvette!SJCC turned 60 years old in July 2017. The first official club meeting was held in 1957. Back in those days, the membership consisted of a very small group meeting at a restaurant - somewhere around 20 members. SJCC was even into the space program during this period and performed some testing for NASA (to our advantage, of course). Members Zoltan Petrany, John McVeigh and Vincent Collins contacted some NASA people and came up with an idea of an ice-cooled suit (looked like long johns) for the SCCA racers to use. It had a circulating water system that pumped cold water through it with a system to monitor the racer's vital signs. This turned out to be one of the forerunners of some of the clothes used by the astronauts today. By the late 1960s, the Club activity calendar was filled with rallyes, Econo-runs and invitations to participate in other car club's autocrosses. Today, the Club's Calendar of Events lists many events, ranging from car shows to drag racing, and from autocrosses to parades. There are also rallyes, cruises, road trips and parties. Each year a number of club events help support local and national charities such as Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Ronald McDonald House, Habitat for Humanity, Houston SPCA, Houston Humane Society and the Houston 100 Club. Each member receives a monthly newsletter, The Grand Sport , telling you where we've been, where we're going, and the fun we're having along the way! Stay tuned to this website for recent event updates. Club meetings are the first Friday of each month at 8pm excluding July and December. Click on Calendar of Events for club meeting location and information. A casual dinner at a local establishment follows the meeting for all who wish to attend.

Scottsdale Corvette Club

Scottsdale Corvette Club Mission Statement To enhance the experience of Corvette ownership through the support system and fellowship of its members. This is achieved in an interactive social environment of monthly meetings, activities, road tours and a newsletter. This forum invites the sharing of experiences, knowledge and fun, while creating an atmosphere that perpetuates the leadership position of America's only true sports car. All that is asked of its members is professionalism, integrity, personal ethics, and a love of the Corvette. History The Scottsdale Corvette Club was founded as an Arizona nonprofit corporation in August of 1999. The Club’s first newsletter went out in August of 1999. We had twelve member-families and the purpose of the newsletter was to present to the members the proposed structure for the Club and to ask them to vote for the officers/board members who had volunteered to serve. Originally the Club had two dinner meetings per month. Starting in January 2000, dinner meetings began to be held once a month on the second Wednesday of each month. In 2001, the Club became affiliated with Van Chevrolet as its official sponsor. Over the years the Club has had some fabulous events, road trips and parties. Each year the holiday party, which is subsidized by the Club, is held at a local golf club with dinner, music and dancing. The Club activities each year comprise a mixture of day trips (such as the southern Arizona wine country, and to Flagstaff for lunch and a tour of the Riordan Mansion) , a few overnight trips (for example, to Bisbee and Tombstone) or weekend road trips( we’ve been to Grand Canyon, Death Valley, Santa Barbara, Santa Fe and on the Route 66 Fun Run), house parties (it may be a pot luck dinner, golf and barbecue, or to a member’s home after the Toy Run), and quarterly dinners at local ethnic restaurants (such as Fogo de Chao and Takeda Thai). The Club has engaged in charitable activities over the years. Currently the Club supports the Ronald McDonald House by decorating furnishing and maintaining one of the apartments for families there; the décor is, of course, Corvette-oriented. The Club also contributes toys to the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots each year, with members driving their Corvettes in a caravan to Van Chevrolet to deliver the toys.
