Corvettes of Bakersfield

Corvettes of Bakersfield in California is a local Corvette Club dedicated to supporting our local charities and communities through fund raising events.A HISTORY OF CORVETTES OF BAKERSFIELDA little bit of past and present history about Corvettes of Bakersfield, Inc., a non-profit organization. It was established in November 1967 as Associated Corvettes, a Bakersfield Corvette club and a voting member of The Western States Corvette Council. In 1969 Associated Corvettes brought to Bakersfield and hosted one of the largest Corvette Conventions in the Western States. The Corvette Council’s Pre-convention, with Corvettes coming from as far away as Mississippi, put Bakersfield on the Corvette map. With a name change in the early 1970’s the club became known as Corvettes of Bakersfield, a better fitting name to promote and enhance the image of Kern County and the City of Bakersfield to the rest of the Corvette Clubs, their families and our Kern County Sponsors and Charities.Today Corvettes of Bakersfield, Inc. has a membership of 88 families, meets the second Tuesday of every month at Three Way Chevrolet on 4501 Wible Road in Bakersfield at 6:30 pm. Three Way Chevrolet is our main sponsor and generously donates their meeting room for our use.Through club member donations, car shows, runs and BBQ’s, Corvettes of Bakersfield supports several local charities. In 1992 Corvettes of Bakersfield hosted the First Annual Gambler’s Classic Car Show in Lake Havasu, Nevada. Today, Corvettes of Bakersfield is working on our 21st Gamblers Classic to be held in Laughlin Nevada in April of 2018. With over 700 Corvettes attending in previous shows, the Gambler’s Classic has become the largest anticipated Corvette Show in the Western States. All proceeds collected from the car show are brought back to Kern County for our local charities. To date Corvettes of Bakersfield has donated close to $300,000 to charities in and around Bakersfield. Corvettes of Bakersfield has also donated to several other local charities on an as needed basis when asked.Corvettes of Bakersfield, Inc. would like to thank all of its members, sponsors, friends and volunteers for all the support, love and time donated to our cause.

Corvettes of Buffalo

Corvettes of Buffalo was formed in 1981 in Buffalo, NY. The original fifteen members that formed the Club invited eleven other Corvette enthusiasts to join, for a grand total of twenty-six charter members. Our membership has a common interest and bond – we have been drawn together by a dream, the Chevrolet Corvette. Corvettes of Buffalo is a social, technical, and community oriented club. Our sense of community has led to our club membership more than doubling during the last 10 years, as we now have over 80 members! We enjoy our “Vettes”, and we like to have fun. Membership interests range from cruising, to racing, to showing cars at a variety of functions. Club cruises, picnics, and technical activities are planned year-round.During our 25th anniversary year we had three special celebrations. The first celebration was the 25th Anniversary Dinner. This was held on March 25th, 2006, twenty-five years and one day after the first meeting, which was held on March 24th, 1981.Our second celebration was the annual Corvettes of Buffalo Corvette Car Show. This “Corvette only” show is well known in the area. This show helps local organizations, such as the Variety Club of Buffalo, military personnel stationed in Western New York, and persons with physical challenges. The date for the show was July 23rd.On August 6th we had a Corvette Brunch run. This Sunday morning cruise through Niagara County with a police escort was a great success. After the cruise we had a catered brunch at a local park. We were fortunate to be joined by many out-of-town Corvette clubs.Corvettes of Buffalo is a proud member of the National Council of Corvette Clubs, in the Northeast Region. We invite any and all members of clubs affiliated with the NCCC to join our club activities if you are in the Buffalo / Niagara Falls area!
