Rio Vista Corvettes

Rio Vista Corvettes, Established in 2007. RIO VISTA CALIFORNIA, is a small delta town along Highway 12. The City is home to the iconic drawbridge that crosses the Sacramento River. Incoporated in 1893, the City has approximately 7800 residents which includes a large gated adult community and golf course. Each year Rio Vista hosts several community events, including the well known Bass Festival held in October of each year. Rio Vista Corvettes (RVC)was founded in March 2007 when 4 couples decided they wanted to form a car club. On April 12, 2007 Rio Vista Corvettes held their first meeting. After that, the first club run was in May 2007 where a total of 7 cars came for the event that led them to the Ryde Hotel for lunch and onto Bogle Winery. In the months that followed, the club started recruiting new members, developed the club’s logo and joined the Western States Corvette Council (WSCC). Due to the clubs small size, the Executive Board members remained primarily the same over the first few years. In the clubs 11 years we have seen members come and go but it steadily increases each year. By 2018, our club has grown to over 40 members which is a great accomplishment and says a lot for the corvette lifestyle.RVC wishes to thank its sponsors and supporters over the years, so please visit our links page. Members who join our club are enrolled in the WSCC as a part of their dues. Members are also eligible for discounts on items and services from Abel Chevrolet.Rio Vista Corvettes has been very active in organizing club events, monthly car runs, promoting community events and businesses and competing in car shows. Some notable accomplishments have been “Vets with Jets” where RVC held a WSCC sanctioned event at the USS Hornet where over 90 Corvettes participated. One lucky owner had his car hoisted onto the carrier’s flight deck for a one in a million photo opportunity with the F-18. RVC also contributes to several local charities and is a big attention- getter at the 4th of July Parade in Trilogy. Our members come from all over the area.

River City Corvette Club

In 1977, Bill Herman and Howard O’Neill decided that Sacramento needed a Corvette social club. The first few meetings were held in people’s homes. There were a total of 7 cars. We still have two of the original members. They include Anne Huntley and Terri Hunt.We moved to Daugherty Chevrolet’s sales meeting room. We had runs to Apple Hill, the Delta and car races at the Roseville Raceway, Cal Expo Harness races. We have met at the Coors and Bell Distributors in the Sacramento area. We then moved to the Cordova Lodge in Rancho Cordova. We were there for about three years. Membership was up to 30 cars. Then we moved to Charlie Brown’s on Exposition Blvd. Then onto the Buggy Whip on Fulton Blvd. We outgrew that location. As we have grown in membership we have moved around. We have been at the Ramada Hotel on Bradshaw, the Dante Club, the McClellan Officer’s Club, the Elk’s Lodge in Carmichael, the Lion’s Gate and now back to the Dante Club. We started with a club Anniversary Progressive Dinner. With the growth in membership, we outgrew people’s homes. We did have an Anniversary Dinner in the park. Now we have our Anniversary Dinners where we have our monthly meetings. The best part of the club is the life long friendships you make, the support you get in your times of need with gaining and losing love ones. We have helped each other through illnesses and joyful events. We have enjoyed various runs all over Northern/Southern California,Nevada and Southern Oregon.Performance Chevrolet became our sponsors in 2004. The enthusiastic support of John and Val McMichael has been wonderful. They have shared their time, home, and love of Corvettes with us.

Riverside Corvette Club

The Riverside Corvette Club was formed in 1975 by a group of like-minded enthusiasts who wanted to share their love affair with "America's only true sports car" and enjoy the camaraderie of other Vetters. Long-time Corvette owners were given a forum to share their knowledge gained over years in the hobby or locate that hard to find part. Novices were quickly immersed in the rich history and folklore surrounding Zora's dream machine. The club rapidly grew and soon joined the Canadian Council of Corvette Clubs (Western Region), the umbrella sanctioning body for formal Corvette competitions throughout Western Canada. The club quickly became a force in competitive events such as slalom racing, concours de elegance, show and shine, and rallying. The club also participates in fun social activities and cruising, leaving ample opportunity for serious bench racing and trailer parties. An important part of this club is the involvement in the community by participating in Food Bank drives and fund-raisers for other charities.

Rochester Corvette Club

In 1958, and just out of college, Gene waited for his new Corvette, which was overdue for delivery. His parents encouraged him to cancel the order and buy something else! Well , and as luck would have it, Gene did not, and in the fall, his red and white ’58 Corvette arrived.Gene LeDoux loved the car, and as he drove around Rochester, he would wave at any other Corvette drivers going by (which were few and far between). He stopped to meet the owner of any Corvette he saw, no matter where it was or where he was going. He wanted to meet and involve himself with other owners of this Special American made sports car. After awhile he had a few owners interested in forming a group to cruise and exchange information about their cars. Gene wrote to General Motors Corp., explaining he had formed The Rochester Corvette Club and wondered if he could get a list of others in the Rochester and surrounding areas. GM supplied Gene with a list of all the owners of Corvettes in New York State, about 200 in all! He was in touch with all of them to see if they wanted to be part of the new club (probably the first in the state). In the Autumn of 1959, 30 Corvette owners attended his first annual meeting held at Brook-Lea Country Club. From that handful, the Club was formed with some of the first attendees becoming members. Gene had taken steps to incorporate the club, all of which had taken one year.Through the years, a number of Presidents and Vice Presidents have made it a point to keep Gene involved with the Club. Even though he no longer owns a Corvette, he will always retain a place of honor and respect as the individual who made it all happen. Gene is an honorary member now, and has been very helpful in bringing us up to date about the club. He attends many functions and we are glad he is and always will be a part of the Rochester Corvette Club again. The Rochester Corvette Club is a social club, which brings many types of people together who have the same common bond, a Corvette. One of the original owners of the 1953 proto-type "EX 122" Corvette, Jack Ingle, was an Honored Life Member until his recent passing; we sadly miss him.We are one of the largest clubs in the United States with 550+ members and we are one of the oldest clubs, established in 1959. We have at this time over 240 Corvettes in the Club, many members owning more than one! (More than the state had when the Club was first started by Gene LeDoux).
