Emerald Coast Corvette Club

The Emerald Coast Corvette Club was founded by a small group of Corvette owners/lovers in 1996. The club was originally organized because there were no Corvette clubs in this area and a small group of owners wanted to get together and discuss Corvettes and take their Corvettes to car shows. Membership started out with 10 members the 1st year and then in 1997 started growing to about 60 member families and holds around that number at this time. Membership goes up and down because we have several members that are in the military (Air Force, Navy and Coast Guard). Our beautiful area is blessed with a base for each of these branches of the Armed Forces. The first meetings of the club were at The Cheese Barn, then we moved to the Pizza Hut, then to Loco's, on to the Golden Coral, then to the Panama City Country Club, to Fire Mountain back to Golden Corral and currently at the Holiday Inn Select, 2001 Martin Luther King Blvd..Over the years we have assisted other car clubs in sponsoring car shows to raise money for local charities. In 2001 we decided to do a Corvette only show. We called it The Corvette Beach Odyssey. We held three of these on the third weekend of September each year. In 2004 we were forced to postpone until October because of hurricanes. We did not host the Corvette Beach Odyssey again until April 2011 and 2012. We have not held the Corvette Beach Odyssey since. The club's main goal is to have fun with our Corvettes. Some have said the main thing we do is Cruise to Eat, and Eat to Cruise. We support the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, KY.Club Officers are elected each December. Daniel Whitman was our first/founding President. Starting the club was mainly his idea and we owe him a special thanks for his hard work in putting it all together along with Mark Pittman and a few others.

Family and Friends Corvettes

Family and Friends Corvettes (FFC) came into existence in 2005. Anthony Thomas and Archie Lee, founding members, formed their own corvette club after leaving a club with too many restrictions and not enough driving. They wanted a club where other corvette enthusiasts can meet, everyone’s input is appreciated, promote an environment where “all are welcome”, and going on “runs” or riding together for pleasure and fun is most important.Since its inception, Corvette enthusiasts from all over northern California have joined (San Ramon, Vallejo, Sacramento, Fresno, Fairfield, Clovis, Elk Grove, Suisun, Martinez, Richmond, Hercules, Yuba City, Antioch, Oakland, Ceres, Modesto); and we’re growing.Sure, we love to show our beautiful cars but FFC believes in giving back to our communities. Over the years we have been involved in many local charities in the northern California areas. The following is a short list of where we have contributed. We send care packages to our troops, adopt families for the holiday, and participate in Breast Cancer Awareness Walks. We hold yearly Toy Give-Aways at the Omega Boys and Girls Club in Vallejo and we participate with the Sacramento Area Correctional Officer Association with their Toy Drive and annual Holiday Party benefitting the residents of the Oak Park Community. Countless numbers of children have received food and toys. Many holiday events included Santa with picture-taking, and a multitude of fun activities for their enjoyment. We’ve donated bicycles, play stations, and special food bags/baskets for parents who attended with their children. Everyone left with smiles on their faces. Fun was had by all and an immeasurable amount of joy from giving was felt by all who contributed and organized the events. We continue to be involved in our communities by participating in medical awareness and fundraising events such as the annual Sister’s Network Breast Cancer Walk. We participate in parades, back-to-school backpack giveaways, and truck-a-treat events. We’ve chosen Foster Care Agencies who needed assistance with meeting their goals of supplying Christmas gifts to their children. In conjunction with the gift giveaway, we arranged a pizza party for all to enjoy. While at the event, an attending young lady left a heart-wrenching letter asking for help for her recently unemployed mother and 8 brothers and sisters; asking nothing for herself.

Flood City Corvette Club

The Flood City Corvette Club was started in 1973 by a small group of Corvette owners who purchased their new or used Corvettes from Rudy Haupt Chevrolet in Johnstown, PA. Rudy Haupt sponsored our club until 1981 when Ron Davidson Chevrolet of Ebensburg, PA took over due to the Haupt dealership closing its doors. The club welcomed and has worked in conjunction with Watkins Chevrolet of Boswell as our sponsor since 2003 until it closed its doors in 2009. In 2010 the club welcomed Cover Chevrolet of Windber as our sponsor. Our club may have started small but it was done properly by being incorporated in 1974 as a non-profit organization complete with written bylaws and a constitution. The club has maintained itself for the last 36 years with a core group as well as members coming and going for various reasons. Several members have recieved merit awards for 10 consecutive years of club participation. We also have several members who have achieved "Lifetime Membership" status by holding a membership for more than 20 years. We still have a few of our founding members. The club's activities have included week long displays inside local shopping malls to sponsoring our cruise-in/fly-in at the Johnstown Airport and car shows at the Jennerstown Speedway. Together we have enjoyed road rallies, Sunday drives to historic sites, annual summer picnics, dinners at local restaurants, attending car shows, and our annual Valentine Dinner and Christmas Banquet.Several local charities have received donations from funds raised at our cruise-in/fly-in and car show events. You are all cordially invited to review our activities calendar and join us anytime you are in the Johnstown area.
