    Default sattelite tivo recording

Anyone know if you can record from a satellite dish to a tivo????
Doesn"t read so on the tivo menu.
Have the wires worn out from switching from unit to unit.

TV; VCR-DVD unit; satellite receiver; TIVO equipment.

Only some newer PVR/DVR units can do this.

Depending on what models you're working with, you can export the recorded program INTO the other unit through the 'Antennae' input, and the input is integrated into the program guide, and you can then re-record the program.

I don't know what models have this capability.

If you're a code hack, you can pull the drives, mount them in a Linux environment, and transfer directly from one drive to the other (or just keep them in your computer), onto the appropriate partition (#3 for DishDVR's).

If your equipment is leased, you might be in warranty-voiding territory by dis-assembling units... If owned, grab a screwdriver!
