what-are-they?
Just to mix things up a little, this thread is about two cars... which aren't red... but share a common visual theme... although I'm fairly sure the owners of one marque would deny such. Europeans can be a bit snobby sometimes...
So, here's the first pair of clues... By the way, since there's two of them, you can guess at either or both...

Here is a 49 chevy fastback.Oh and a 1954 R type continental Bentley
Ah, well... I'd hoped it would be a bit harder but it's hard to fool you Chevy-addicts...
The 1950 Chevrolet Fleetline Deluxe and the 1952 Bentley Type-R Continental were proof that engineers and designers aren't as "class conscious" as consumers.
The Chev was one of the more beautiful American post-war designs and it's curved rear quarters, especially when viewed directly from behind, match the curves of the Cisitalia 202 (previous thread) remarkably.
Bentley designers saw the Chev, which was an entry level automobile, as a remarkably well balanced and solid design... They built the Continental which was, of course, the top end of the Bentley's line. Everything was perfect, typical of Bentley's craftsmanship. The Continental was the Maybach of it's day and it's still a remarkably handsome vehicle... but if you look closely, having read this, can you see the Chev's lines in it?
