North Carolina - A woman and an elderly couple were transported to Pardee Hospital after a two-vehicle wreck on U.S. 25 North and Berkeley Road at 4 p.m. Monday.
Hendersonville Police Department Lt. Bruce Simmonds said Stephanie McCarson, 36, of Brookside Camp Road was transported by ambulance to the hospital after her red Corvette was struck by a Toyota Camry.
Simmonds said McCarson pulled out of the Triangle Stop on U.S. 25 and attempted to pull into the northbound lane when it was hit by the Camry.
Simmonds said McCarson was charged with an unsafe movement violation.
The Camry was driven by Joyce Chapp Robinson, 83, of 3268 Heritage Circle. Kermit Thompson, 93 of the same address was the passenger in the Camry.
Both Robinson and Thompson were also transported to the hospital.
Police on the scene said McCarson was in serious condition but did not know the elderly couple's condition.
Frank Mazalic of Hendersonville said he saw the accident as he was leaving the Triangle Stop.
"The Corvette was coming out of the Texaco and made a left trying to get out into the turning lane," Mazalic said. "The Toyota didn't have time to react."

time to react
Yeah, the 83 year old driver "didn't have time to react." Geez, there is a revelation. Why was an 83 year old driving at all? Should have let the 93 year old guy drive I guess.

Could be the corvette pulled out in front of them. Had someone do that to my wife. They sat in grocery drive wanting to turn left, but never stopped to look left before they pulled out. My wife was a couple of feet from them driving down a major road when when all of a sudden the lady burst out the drive. Wife locked em up, but couldnt avoid hitting them because the lady was too close to avoid. Wiped out the wifes car, and the lady never said "I'm sorry",or "are ya'll ok?". Instead she ranted about not having time for this, and said she had to leave for work. Cops wasnt too happy with it all. They did visit her at her work though.
