    Truth is ... they probably copied the old sign or the local jurisdiction doesn't have any inspectors that can ןǝןds..

    Or spell checkers installed on the public works equipment...

    Just be thankful they weren't also required to translate and provide the markings in Spanish! Who knows what would have wound up on the pavement...?!
