Bud, I visit other sites, and most are not as congenial as CAC. Am I/Do I post differently here? NO, I try to help with wherever/whenever I can. I am here to live and learn. I have not had a problem with Mods at any site I have been on, but that's because I try to be civil in all my postings, if I am wrong, then tell me and I'll retract my statement or apologize. I am not a mechanical genius like Junkie or as widespread knowledgeable as someone like Hib, but I'm no idiot either. I have experiences which I feel help others and will, in my best behavior, express myself.

I frequent several other Corvette sites, but I am a supporting member of ONE...CAC. I have developed many friendships here, including yourself and several of the Mods, and I feel at home here. I would hope that there are others here who count me as a friend.

There, now I will step down off the soapbox.

"The mods/admins do a great job and better than other sites that wont be mentioned here."

    X.... there, I voted!

I vote with the Rocket Meister because I was the recipient of a censor of my racy ladies avatar by them, and I deserved it, although at the time I was peeved but I really got some good explanations on why it should not be allowed, and they all were right about our site being a family affair and all families should be able to participate without embarassing photos for them to avoid and explain. I say lets put up a jury of peers and if someone don't like our rules let them vote em off until they can grow up. BTW Bud I have been in Plano for the last week is there any way you can do anything about this dang burn heat, I knew Texas was hot, but this will burn you up before you can uncle Zap and you are a cinder. We head for IL over the weekend

    Bud,
i voted that Mods/ADmins do a good job, but i hear Jim as well. Sometimes stuff floats around various parts of the site where it shouldnt.

Only 1 Vette site i made my home and visit daily. I feel at home here and have gotten answers to almost any of my stupid question(s). Or a hand when meeting members (Remember me putting the Vette on backwards on the trailer, Bud? ).

As to posting the same on other sites? Well, i used to, but got told to use Search more, or got 'yelled' at in writing when i showed some of the mods i did with my front plate, as it wasnt what was expected.

So, no, i hardly post on other sites anymore. CAC is the Corvette Home for me.

So all in all i think this is first rate and i have no issues other then some recent run-ins, but that'll fade out again like others have.

I do have to say that i am missing some members here (such as Jim and some others), hopefully they'll come back and keep in touch.

Bud - The suit fits a bit tight from time to time, but the friendships on CAC are a bit closer also!

I voted that the mods and admins do a great job, and that is what I feel for the most part, however, I do believe that more consideration should be given to posts that are made on forums such as The Edge, Comedy, and the ones that aren't Corvette related. I keep hearing that this is a Corvette website only and if that is the case, then remove the forums that do not pertain to Corvettes. Unless that is done, folks that are complaining should stay on the Corvette only forums if you are offended by some of the content of the others. I believe this is the best Corvette website on the net, and I will continue to reside here as long as it is operated the way it is.

The only thing I could add to this is the ones with supporting member under their name puts their money where their mouth is! We support the CAC in their daily decisions most of the time but not always, and that what makes this one the best. You can protest if you want, but the Mods and Adm will make the right decision to keep us on track.

Eventhough I have only been here a few months I am appreciative of the wealth of information and the willingness of members to help....My 84' has never run so well...Thanks
I voted for abit more on the conservative side as there is (I believe) a time and place for racey avatars & non corvette related.
I became a supporting member yesterday and am proud to be associated with this site and will be here for the duration.

Well, this thread has been dormant for a while, I thought I would bring it back to the forefront.

Since my original post I have some time under my belt as a moderator here. I can tell you that it's not always an easy job..... But it is a very satisfying one. Most of my dealings (mod-wise) have been taken very well. My feelings about the mods/admins haven't changed, I now understand more of where they are coming from.

I also understand that we have our problems here.....some people, can't take friendly hints and need a "boost" now and then. Those people who don't like certain areas...ie "The Edge" or "Comedy Central" can do like I do and just not visit those areas.

As we begin 2010 and the coming 10th anniversary of CAC I'd really like to see more people voice their opinions here. It would help me a lot in my role as moderator. As far as your concerns, trust me, they are taken seriously by the staff. Have a great 2010!

I still consider this the best Corvette website. I've learned so much since I joined about 8 years ago. I might scan two others but CAC is the only place I take seriously and do any posting. I agree that there are a few on here who seem to post just to provoke people or to run up their post count. Just look around here everyday like I do and you can probably guess who they are. I also miss some of the "regulars" who use to be on here, especially for their past guidance and wisdom. I think the moderators do a great job and I appreciate Rob for getting this whole thing started.

Hope everyone has a happy 2010!

Although I am a newer member here I find this forum to be great.
I am/was a Mod at a different website(Not Car related) and I had the job of Modding off topic and the political forums over there. all things considered that website was really friendly just like this forum, except when you ventured into the politics forum.LOL. the way we solved that problem is we set it up to where you could only post/view threads in politics forum by becoming a member of the politics forum. Kind of like a secret knock to access that part. That way if easily offended you would not see the content unless you asked to, and if you asked to see it then you have no complaints to the Admins or Mods.

It seems to have worked well over there.
But I give this forum a big for its friendly helpful members!

    I will be sticking around.

Not a bad idea, Mike... Our political forum seems to really polarize folks. There's a warning label but some just can't seem to resist.

For the short time I have been with CAC I have had a real good experience with everything that I have seen. So far I have not seen anything inappropriate or lewd, but keep up the good work, I belong to a few other forums on a variety of topics and i visit this one at least once a day. There seems to be a lot of good info that can be obtained from someone just starting out in the Corvette World as I am. . The Poll was closed by the time I posted this, but would have chosen the mods/admin do a great job Keep up the good work.
