Default What is your favorite Media Corvette?

We've all seen them. Some of us just own movies because of them. What's your favorite Corvette from non-advertisement media? (Yes, this eliminates the blue C2 in the Viagra ads.)

    Some examples:

TV - Riptide, Sting Ray, Scarecrow & Mrs. King, Hardcastle & McCormick, Route 66, and even the Corvette disguised as Don Johnson's Ferrari in Miami Vice.

Movies - Corvette Summer, Stingray, Con Air (Which you gotta be crazy...that director had it in for Corvettes.), Summer of Sam, The Presidio, October Sky, and even the Corvette that got turned into the Batmobile for the 1989 movie.

    So, what's your favorite?

Me? I love the Corvette Summer Dragon Wagon.
On MY birthday, 14 years before: Zora Arkus-Duntov races a disguised 1956 model Corvette with a V-8 engine at the Pike's Peak Hill climb, setting the stock car record of with a time of 17:24.05.

The vehicle in Hardcastle and McCormick was a Coyote, which was a custom vehicle built on a VW frame with a Porsche 914 engine in it for the first season. After the first season the car was built on a DeLorean frame. Was there a Corvette in the series?

My vote would have to be the Corvette the guys drove in Route 66.

I would have to be H.B.Hallicki's yellow Vette in "The Junkman".

Tom Hanks' 69 Vette in "Apollo 13". The original astronauts got them all free from GM as promo.

Hardcastle & McCormick - The Judge had a powder blue C2 in the garage that was crashed through the garage door when McCormick had to chase some bad guys, who I think stole the Coyote. You can see it in some of the opening credits. *checks Youtube and hopes the comp doesnt' crash*

Rear view at 37 seconds, it jumps the camera.

Only shot I could find. In one of the season intros you can see it crashing through the garage door.

How about the Corvette Dennis Hopper drove in "King of the Mountain"?

It looked pretty thrashed but it was a big block 67, if memory serves...

Ned Racine's red Corvette in "Body Heat". Probably because I like the character and how well the Corvette compliments him. Good Flick!

I guess that means memory served...

How about that schweeeet 61 C1 from National Lampoon's Animal House? Unlike Hopper's ride, the C1 was mint!!

If my memory serves me correct, Bill Bixby drove a white '73 coupe in a TV series titled "The Magician". I used to watch that show when I was a kid just for the Corvette!!!
