    Hello B-Stock,

Back in my younger days I just had my paychecks sent to the courthouse for tickets in the past and any I might get in the future, but I remember getting one that was too far over the limit (I think it was 25 MPH over the posted limit) to take defensive driving and the judge let me take "Deferred Adjudication" <spelling?>. It basically meant that he 1) lowered the cost of the fine, 2) I had to not get any more tickets for 6 months, and 3) if I did get a ticket during that time, I owed the full price of the ticket on top of the fine already paid. An added bonus of this deal was that the ticket stayed off my driving record. I wonder if you can still do this?

    Welcome to the forum.

The only "A Holes" you'll find here are those that stumble upon the site every now and then but they usually don't stay very long, thankfully.

Welcome to the CAC by the way.

My brother has always told me that in MA you are allowed one speeding ticket a year without it affecting your rating, I wonder if NH is like that too?

Isn't there a law that if you are a certain amount over the mph it becomes criminal and has big penalties? Is that a federal law? Sorry I am sick and my brain is fuzzy.

Reminds me my 20 yr old got pulled over 2 weeks ago and we are going to fight it. Failure to stop, crossing over the double line and no license on him. What was wierd is that he showed me the spot where the last stop sign was and where he was pulled over and it was miles apart and in different towns so I have no idea. He did have his license on him but couldn't find it and the cop didn't feel like waiting. I am not sure if he couldn't see the lines on the road from all the rock salt build up or what and I am pretty sure that he at least did a rolling stop.

He wasn't speeding so clearly he doesn't take after his mom.

If you get a ticket for any moving violation in Massachusetts your insurance is going up the following year. I believe speeding tickets (each offense) stay with you for a total of 7 years.

And if you get 3 speeding tickets within a 12 month period in MA, your license is suspended.

A real patriot is the fellow who gets a speeding ticket and rejoices that the system works.

So are you saying that exercising your right to have your day in court, in order to contest a speeding ticket, is somehow unpatriotic?

I am not saying that having your day in court is unpatriotic. Having your day in court is showing that the system works. Now if you are found guility or not that is a completely different thing.
