    Default Vettes to Vets

This morning I will be heading to a local Corvette event called "Vettes to Vets."

There is no admission fee but we ask each car to prepare a 'goodie bag' of items that will make the veterans comfortable on a daily basis.

These disabled veterans have given up a significant part of their lives so we may enjoy ours in complete freedom.

Over 100 cars came out last year to show their respect and support for our Veterans.

Items Needed by Men and Women Disabled Veterans

    Full sized afghans
    Cosmetic Bags
    Lap robes
    Cosmetics
    Bibs
    Hand and body lotion
    Wheelchair bags
    Lipsticks
    Board games
    Hair dryers
New playing cards / jigsaw puzzles Hairbrushes/combs
    Chess/Checker sets / Cribbage boards
    Electronics – TVs, stereos,
Writing paper, pens, stamped envelopes walkman radios
Paperback books (no hard covers please)
    Current magazines
    Men’s clothing: New sweatpants/sweatshirts
    White socks, underwear, sweaters,
washable slippers, Sneakers with Velcro laces,
hats, gloves, Winter or Spring jackets, scarves
    Women’s clothing: knee socks, washable
slippers, sweaters, jogging or warm up suits,
colored T-shirts, walking shorts, hats, gloves,
scarves, belts, Winter or Spring jackets
    Overnight bags/suit cases
    Deodorant
    Shampoo
    Toothpaste / Tooth brushes
    Denture cleaner
    Poligrip
    Body wash soap
    Baby shampoo
    Disposable razors
    Electric razors (rechargeable, new only)
    Electric pre-shave lotion
    Aftershave lotion

The Corvette Action Center is donating $150.00 worth of items to this event. I took the ZR-1 shopping yesterday and literally filled up the back of the car with shaving cream, toothpaste, toothbrushes, blankets, playing cards, soap, board games....the list goes on.

To all those that served in our armed forces - THANK YOU!

    Rob.
    Great endeavor.
Is the show at a VA facility? Are the supplies delivered to a VA facility?
There are VA homes and VA hospitals.

This was held at a Veterans Hospital, and what a fantastic turnout of Corvettes!! There were 200 Vettes from all over New England. It was incredible, and I am so proud to have been part of this Corvette event. There were two trucks filled with the bags of goodies which everyone brought.

I took a bunch of pictures, but I left the camera in the car which is now in a locked garage, and I'm pooped so I'm going to wait until tomorrow to add some pictures.

By the way, I saw Rob...and the ZR1!!! Took pictures of it...will post for those of you who are disbelievers!
