    Hello everyone! Just purchased my first 'Vette a few weeks ago. It's a 2002 triple black convertible with the six speed manual trans. To say the least, it is a blast to drive. A little bit about my self. I am a recently (last month) retired firefighter. Owning a vette has been a lifelong dream of mine. My mother says when I was around 6 or so, I could spot one a mile away. Well I always said I would get one when I retired. The wife and I were looking at new ones. A friend of mine came by the house one day, and we were talking, when out of the blue he stated I should buy his. I asked what he wanted for it and he let $18000 roll off his tongue. I could barely contain my excitement, but asked if I could test drive it. He said sure, so brought it home to show the wife, and we agreed it was a good buy. It was showing only 28000 on the clock, new tires, new trans and new battery. Not that, but it was my favorite color! Long story short, it is now sitting in my garage.     Thanks everyone for the kind welcome! I am enjoying the car and this forum is great. Lots of kind people here from what I can tell. I have been "snooping" around and there is alot of info here. Looking forward to meeting some of you around one of the 'Vette shows. Have a safe weekend everybody! Oh, and GS Diva, you have the exact car I was looking at new! Maybe one day I will get that one!
