Hello from Covina California!
Hi boys and girls...my name is John and about 15 years ago my mom decided that she wanted a Stingray...we shopped around and she ended up buying a 1974 that had just been rebuilt by a guy and was a beautiful condition. She drove it for a few years but since she is getting up in age, it became harder for her to get in and out of the car. It sat in her driveway for the last 2 years, untouched! I was having Thanksgiving dinner with her with the family this year and she decided to just give me the car since it was just sitting. I went back the next day with a new battery and fuel...it started right up! I cleaned it up and drove it home that day...now it just needs a little TLC. I have already had to replace the power steering booster, which was a headache...lol...but will start fixing all the little things and doing some much needed maintenance with time. I'm glad I found this site because I already found out how to replace the tachometer cable, which is next on my things to do list.
Congratulations on your "new" Vette and Welcome to the CAC.

Thank you very much! I can tell that I will be spending a lot of time in this forum.
A little bit about me...lol...I have been a VW fanatic most of my life with my focus on drag racing although I have built many show cars in the past. I currently own a 1956 Oval Window Ragtop and a 1966 Pro-Mod Sedan that runs low 9's with the potential to run high 8's with more tuning and good track conditions...I posted a few pictures of them in my albums.

This Corvette is the first V8 car I have owned since having a driver's license, other then my tow vehicle...so I have a lot to learn! I can't wait to get my hands dirty and dive in to see what makes this car run. It need a lot of TLC and attention to detail...but that's therapeutic for me. I like doing things myself so I will definitely be utilizing the resources and knowledge of everyone on this forum. I am looking forward to tinkering with the car and plan on keeping it in it's original condition as much as possible...but I know that my need for speed might overtake me...lol...so we'll see what happens under the hood!
Love the VWs. My first car was a 66 VW and it's a good thing it wasn't capable of 136 mph. I got in enough trouble at 70.
Sweet!
