Intro
Well, hello everyone I'm a newbie and hope you all will offer a little help. Just bought a '97 Vette. The last time I tinkered with Corvettes all they had under the hood was a carbuerator, alternator, starter, and engine. I guess you're beginning to get the picture, times..... they have changed. Not exactly new to the wrenching world, just finished a rebuild on a '63 Riviera. The closest I've gotten to a computer(the one I'm using to type this on notwithstanding) is a timing light. So, here goes, what do I need to understand all this code business. How do I get access to the codes in the car, where do I go to find out what they mean? The car looks and runs fine, I guess i'm asking if you would consider helping to jump start one of the 'oldies' into the 21st century. The Buick was a fun project, brought back a lot of fond memiories, also bought the Vette, but it's time to move on. What's the first thing I need to do to begin understanding this car and its computer system? Your advise and input will certainly be appreciated. Thanks to all in advance.-Dave
